Scots teen has leg and arm ripped open in alleged XL Bully dog attack
A woman has been charged after a teenage girl's leg was ripped open in an alleged dog attack in Dundee. Jaelee Scott, 15, was at a friend's house where the XL Bully was being kept while its owners were on holiday.
The animal sunk allegedly its teeth into her leg, and its claws into her thigh and arm on June 13. It is understood a friend had to grab the dog by the jaws and prise them open before it would let go of the screaming teen.
Jaelee was taken to Ninewells Hospital and underwent three hours of surgery to address two blood clots and clean out her painful wounds. The schoolgirl will be left with huge scars from the deep gouges in her skin sustained during the alleged attack.
Police say a 34-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the alleged incident.
Disabled Scots mum forced to 'bum-shuffle' around living room amid council housing failures
A wheelchair-bound Scots mum says she has been left suicidal after being forced to ‘bum shuffle’ around just two rooms in her home due to inadequate council housing. Danielle MacArthur woke up to discover both her legs were suddenly paralysed in October 2019 before later being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder.
The 27-year-old, who also has cysts on her brain and spine malformations, has now been sleeping on her living room couch next to a portable toilet for the last three years. The mum-of-one told how she feels like a “caged animal” after being left relying on her carers to carry her in and out of her Kilsyth home while being unable to get up to her young son Peter's room.
Despite repeated pleas for help to North Lanarkshire Council, Danielle said she was forced to take out disability discrimination lawsuit against the local authority and has been awarded £10,000. But two months after the case concluded, the mum claims the money has yet to be paid out while still desperately waiting for suitable accommodation to be found.
Toddler killed by car after wandering out of holiday home without parents knowing
A toddler was killed by a car after he wandered out of his holiday home - when his parents thought he was sleeping. The 21-month-old boy was knocked down by a Jeep shortly after 9am yesterday, near the village of Ballinagare in Ireland's County Roscommon.
The youngster's parents are believed to have travelled to Ireland on holiday from the UK and were staying with family members when the tragedy struck, reports the Mirror. The child had left his bed and wandered out of the house on his own while his parents were still asleep, the Irish Mirror reports.
It's thought the collision happened when a driver didn't see the child as he entered the area near to where the toddler had been staying. He then immediately alerted the residents of the nearby house after he realised what had happened.
They soon noticed the child wasn't in bed or inside the house, and the boy was treated at the scene of the accident by emergency services. However, despite their best efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
Scots domestic abuse thug who assaulted Celtic star partner leaves club after backlash over signing
A domestic abuse brute who assaulted his former Scotland International partner has parted ways with the club he signed for just weeks ago. Paul Tansey, 37, parted ways with East of Scotland League side Whitehill Welfare, after joining them in July.
Tansey, the brother of former Scotland star Leigh Griffiths, abused Celtic's Lisa Robertson during a 10-month long tirade. After his conviction in May, he was sacked by his then-club Penicuik Athletic.
However, East of Scotland division one side Whitehill quietly snapped up the brute during the summer. The move sparked backlash in the community of Rosewell, where the Midlothian club are based, and led to a petition by locals, calling for Tansey's contract to be terminated.
Tansey started all four of Whitehill's games so far this season, but last night, on the eve of their cup clash with Kennoway Star Hearts, the club revealed that they had parted ways with the midfielder. Posting on Twitter, they said: "Whitehill Welfare FC can confirm that Paul Tansey has left the club. We will be making no further comment on this matter."
Scots diner speaks out after restaurant staff accidentally included her in an email about her complaints
A Scots diner has spoken out after restaurant staff included her in an email chain that discussed complaints she made. Rachael Avis visited The Garden Bistro at Saughton Park, Edinburgh with her parents and children on Monday, August 15.
Unhappy with the food and service at the new establishment, she left a review on a local Facebook group, Edinburgh Live reports. However, after the post was removed, she emailed the company directly to complain.
But in the restaurant's response, they accidentally included a series of emails discussing her complaints. The Garden Bistro staff claimed she was "causing trouble" and said she should have been more "patient" - and unwittingly sent their in-house grumbles directly to her.
Sharing her experience Rachael told Edinburgh Live: "So we walked over to the bistro for some lunch. On arrival, I stood at the host station for some time before I entered the bistro to ask to be seated.
"We were told there were no tables, so I asked if I could sit at a table to the right of the host station, and the waiter said yes. The table was dirty, so I asked for a cloth and the guy said he would bring one. He didn’t. We sat anyway and waited for menus."
