One of the most extreme shows on British TV will be making a comeback later tonight.
SAS: Who Dares Wins will be launching its eighth series on Channel 4 and will feature a fresh round of 20 recruits to take on a series of once-in-a-lifetime challenges. The contestants will be thrown into the 'jungle hell' of Thung Ui, North Vietnam, to attempt to complete the punishing jungle phase of SAS selection.
The special condensed version of SAS Selection will be led by an elite team of ex-special forces operators from both the UK and US. This year, the Chief DS will be Billy (Mark Billingham MBE), an expert in jungle warfare who spent half of his military career in the jungle.
He will be accompanied by new DS Chris Oliver, whose military career spans over 16 years and has seen him serve all over the globe. The team will also feature the comeback of Foxy (Jason Fox) and Rudy Reyes from the US. The first phase of selection will be incredibly gruelling for contestants as they manoeuvre through extreme courses expertly put together by the DS' combined military skills in the jungle.

Speaking about how different this year's show will be, Billy said: "The jungle is a total sensory overload and we’re taking the recruits into JUNGLE HELL this series. It doesn't matter how often you have heard about it in war stories or seen it in TV programmes or films - there is nothing like experiencing it.
"Visually, it's incredibly intimidating, because everything looks the same. The smells are unlike anything you have ever known. The sensations of extreme heat and humidity are draining.
"The noise from the trees and creatures is often deafening, leaving little space to find tranquillity in your mind."
