Sarah Jessica Parker reportedly ran out of a gala where she was being honoured on Wednesday night because of a family emergency.
The Sex And The City star, 57, was being recognised at the New York City Ballet's 10th Annual Fall Fashion Gala, but she is said to have left the event moments after arriving.
The star-studded gala was held at the David H. Koch Theatre at the Lincoln Centre and was attended by the likes of Julia Fox and Solange Knowles.
Sarah, who serves as the vice chair of the Board of Directors for New York City Ballet, is the brain behind the gala which was created in 2012. Her abrupt departure on Wednesday was reportedly announced from the stage.
A source who was in attendance at the event said the announcement revealed she had left due to a "sudden devastating family situation", according to Page Six.
The Mirror has contacted Sarah's representatives for comment.
News of her last-minute departure comes just one day after she attended the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2 with her husband Matthew Broderick.
Their teen twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha, also made a rare appearance at the premiere.
The 13-year-old twins both showcased peep-toe heels from the mum's fashion brand SJP Collection.
While Marion wore the footwear with a strapless cocktail dress, Tabitha toned down the look a bit by wearing a plain black mini-dress.
Sarah wore a silver Mandarin top with a pink floral print and Matthew looked smart in a brown suit and tie combo.
The event marked a rare family appearance, with their last outing happening in March as the family celebrated the opening-night performance of Neil Simon's Plaza Suite.
Prior to that, the Hollywood star shared a snap of her kids as they headed off to school last September.
Posting the pic on Instagram, Sarah wrote: "In the span of 7 days, one crosses the threshold into his freshman year of college. The other 2 into 7th grade."
She added: "The house is different. We are different. They need us more. And far less. So many know."
