Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced on Tuesday that she will not be leaving her current position to join President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration in Washington, D.C. Sanders expressed her commitment to serving as governor for the next six years, having already announced her bid for re-election.

Sanders previously served as the 31st White House press secretary during Trump's first term, leaving in 2019 to successfully campaign for governor in 2021 with Trump's endorsement. She made history as the first female governor of Arkansas and currently holds the distinction of being the youngest serving governor in the United States.

During the 2024 re-election campaign, Sanders actively supported Trump and appeared at several of his rallies. In a surprising turn of events, her father, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, was appointed by Trump as the next U.S. ambassador to Israel.
