Sarah Ferguson wants Sam Heughan to ditch Outlander to star in her saucy book's TV adaption

Sarah Ferguson has said that she's got her sights set on Sam Heughan to play the lead male role in the brand new TV adaption of her latest novel 'A Most Intriguing Lady'.

The Sunday Time best seller is set to be turned into a drama and the Duchess of York appeared on Good Morning Britain today (Thursday) to talk about it.

Fergie joined Kate Garraway and Adil Ray to chat about the book, which she said does contain 'a bit of sex'.

Sarah said: "It's fantastically delicious! It's Peaky Blinders meets Pride and Prejudice."

"And there is a bit of sex in it! Oh am I allowed to say sex?"

Kate replied: "I'm not challenging you! So it is quite saucy then?"

And Fergie smiled: "This is book two so I am getting more confident!"

Adil said: "And you're adapting it for TV?" He joked: "I'm looking for a part in it! Are you casting?"

Fergie laughed: "The TV series is going to be very exciting because I want Jamie (Sam Heughan's character) to come out of Outlander and into my TV series, I'm just putting it out there, right Jamie? Of course Claire would be upset (Caitriona Balfe's character). Anyone watching Outlander?"

And Kate replied: "You want to get them?"

Fergie said: "Yes! It's going to be very exciting and I'm going to win an Emmy!"

Adil said: "I'm loving the confidence!"
