Sarah Ferguson speaks out after not receiving an invite for the King's Coronation

Sarah Ferguson has spoken out for the first time since not being invited to the King's Coronation. Following reports last week, Prince Andrew's ex-wife is expected not be invited to appear at the royal event on May 6.

According to reports, it is said that the King has decided against inviting his former sister-in-law to the ceremony, even though she still shares a home with his brother Andrew, reports the Mirror.

On April 16, Fergie, who now looks after the late Queen’s corgis Sandy and Muick, posted a tweet with a link to a fundraiser by a friend of hers who has motor neurone disease.

She wrote: "This is my friend John Chart’s last trek. John, who suffers from #MotorNeuroneDisease, climbs Everest to raise awareness about MND and how more research is needed. Support John by donating to help find a cure & share."

Fergie also posted some pictures and clips of her pal who is aiming to reach Camp 1 on Everest to raise awareness of MND.

In March whilst in New York to promote her romance novel, she was asked about her plans for the Coronation after admitting she had not yet received an invitation.

But she shrugged it off and told of what she will be doing instead if she is not picked to be inside Westminster Abbey.

She explained: "Well I've decided the best thing about being British around a coronation - although I've never been to one - I think we should, I should set up a tea room at the bottom of the drive with bunting and cakes."

According to The Independent, Fergie will have to watch proceedings from home with a source quote as saying: "She has been hugely supportive of Charles and Camilla and does not want this to become about her.

"The whole day is about the new King and the success of his reign but she has always championed the royal family and the Queen undoubtedly would have wanted her to be there."
