Sarah Beeny shows off new look after shaving hair off during breast cancer battle

Sarah Beeny is embracing wearing a wig after deciding to shave her head having lost most of her hair in 24 hours while undergoing treatment for cancer.

The TV presenter and property expert, 50, confirmed last month that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.

After admitting on a social media post on Wednesday that losing her natural locks had been “much harder than I expected it to be,” she said she is now having “fun” experimenting with alternative headwear.

Taking to Instagram, Beeny - who is best known for her work on UK property programmes, including Help! My House Is Falling Down and Sarah Beeny’s New Life In The Country - uploaded a selfie of her sporting a curly blonde wig.

“New day new wig,” she captioned the snap.

Adding: “This might be more fun than I expected…!!!”

Her followers were quick to compliment the Reading-born star’s new look and positive outlook.

“Looks ace!” wrote former Celebrity Juice host Keith Lemon.

“Awww love it! It really suits you! Thank you for sharing your journey Sarah this will help so many other women,” penned another.

“Wow! What a fabulous wig. You look amazing. Looking forward to seeing lots more wig styling,” agreed a third.

While a fourth declared: “Attitude is everything.. we should all #BeMoreBeeny.”

first confirmed her diagnosis in an interview with The Telegraph.

Speaking to the newspaper, she revealed she began a course of chemotherapy to treat the cancer last week and will have surgery and undergo radiotherapy in the New Year.

Despite her diagnosis, Beeny has said she will continue to work and is currently focused on a new Channel 4 series and book she has planned for later in the year.

Beeny lost her mother to breast cancer when she was 10 years old and said that her own diagnosis was not unexpected.

She has four children – Rafferty, Laurie, Billy, and Charlie – and has been married to her husband, artist Graham Swift, since 2003.
