Dragons' Den returned to our screens last night, with more hopefuls trying to impress some of the UK’s most successful businesspeople.

This series, there’s a brand new dragon in town, as Sara Davies joined regulars Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman and Tej Lalvani on the judging panel, grilling contestants over their business plans.

At 35 years old, Davies is the youngest Dragon in the show's history and already boasts a multi-million business empire.

As series 17 of Dragons' Den kicks off, here’s everything you need to know about her.

Who is Sara Davies?

Davies is an entrepreneur and founder of Crafter’s Companion, which she set up in 2005 while studying for a business degree at the University of York.

The company sells arts and crafts products and has offices in the North East of England and California.

Sara has received over 25 business award and was awarded an MBE in 2016 for services to the economy.

In 2007, she married husband Simon and the pair have two children together.

What is her net worth?

Sara’s company is reportedly worth over £34 million.

Speaking to the BBC, Sara shared her excitement about joining the show.

“I’m absolutely delighted to join the other Dragons for the new series of the show,” she said.

New star: Davies will be hoping to make some major investments (BBC)

“I’ve always been very passionate about investing time in and sharing my expertise with other entrepreneurs and hopefully I’ll be able to help some of the contestants really take their business to the next level.

“I’ve been a fan of the show since it started, I was even invited to pitch on the show 13 years ago so it feels like I’ve come a full circle. It wasn’t all that long ago when I was in the position of the contestants so I really feel like I will be able to relate to their stories and their journeys so far. I understand the highs and lows of building a global business from the ground and taking that initial product idea all the way to the market.

“I’m looking forward to getting started and hopefully being introduced to some businesses that I can really get excited about.”

Dragons' Den airs every Sunday at 8pm on BBC Two.
