From the moment the New York Giants drafted Saquon Barkley second overall in 2018, there was immediate debate among fans over whether they drafted a running back too high.
After leaving the Giants in favor of arguably their biggest rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, this offseason, Barkley quickly went from hero to zero in the eyes of those same fans.
There was no debating Barkley’s talent and effectiveness in the Giants’ offense when he was on the field. However, a large part of the debate around Barkley was his durability.
In connection with their 100th season celebration, the Giants released numbers 100-91 of their top 100 players list earlier this week and Barkley checked in at No. 95.
Barkley reacted to the honor on X, formerly known as Twitter.
All love 💙 tbh I think this is really dope! Appreciate it ✊🏾 https://t.co/2A39zgLiJU

Barkley has shown love to the Giants and their fans at times since his departure and previously expressed remorse over his handling of his exit from the franchise that drafted him.
Still, Barkley is on the other side now and plays for a chief rival, so fans are going to continue to go at Barkley, including his rank on the Giants’ top 100.
Barkley did a lot of the Giants, especially during the 2022 run to the postseason. That season alone likely played a heavy role in his rank on the list.
