Saquon Barkley hopes Giants fans deliver breathtaking ‘White Out’

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley knows a thing or two about “White Out” games. After all, no one does them better than Penn State University, his alma mater.

Needless to say, when Barkley learned that the Giants called on their fans to “White Out” MetLife Stadium on Monday night, it brought back some great memories.

“If it’s anything like State College, it’s unbelievable. Words really can’t describe it,” Barkley told reporters on Thursday. “Literally when I found out we were going to do that, went right back to memories of playing in State College. I had a lot of good memories in the White Out. Hopefully, that can rub of this Monday, too.”

Barkley is hopeful Giants fans heed the call — not just for the team, but so they can experience it for themselves.

“If it’s anything like State College, words can’t explain it. It’s truly amazing. It’s breathtaking,” Barkley said. “Like I said, I had a couple of good games in ‘White Outs’ so hopefully that can rub off this Monday, too.”

The Giants and their players have been making pleas all week. Whether fans respond en masse remains to be seen, but their Week 2 calls for a raucous crowd were rewarded.

It’s all about changing the culture in East Rutherford, and this current Giants regime is making sure that fans are very much a part of it.
