Saquon Barkley, Eagles outlast Rams, advance to NFC Championship Game

Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams are going to see Saquon Barkley running away from them in their nightmares all offseason.

The brilliant free-agent signing by the Philadelphia Eagles ran for 255 yards and two touchdowns in a regular season win over LA. On Sunday at snowy Lincoln Financial Field, Barkley ran for two more touchdowns and 205 yards as the Eagles advanced to the NFC Championship Game with a thrilling 28-22 win.

The Eagles will host the Washington Commanders at the Linc on Jan. 26. The NFC East rivals split regular season games.

Barkley had a 62-yard run in the second quarter of the divisional-round win over the Rams. The scored with 1:07 left turned a 7-6 deficit into a 13-7 halftime lead.

Up 22-15 after two Jake Elliott field goals in the fourth quarter, Barkley broke loose for a 78-yard run. That made it 28-15. Elliott missed his second  PAT, leaving the Rams a window of hope.

The Rams came down the field and cut the deficit to 28-22 with 2:48 to go on a TD pass from Matthew Stafford to Cody Parkinson.

The Rams got the ball back at their 18 with no timeouts and 2:23 left.

Stafford completed two passes for a first down when the clock hit the two-minute warning.

Later, he completed a long pass to Puka Nacua that left the ball at the Philly 21.

Another Nacua catch got the ball to the 14-yard line and set up a third-and-two.

Jalen Carter sacked Stafford, setting up a fourth-and-11 play for the Rams season.

Stafford looked for Nacua but the pass was incomplete and the Eagles advanced.
