Saquon Barkley Can Earn An Extra $750k With A Super Bowl Win

The Philadelphia Eagles are one game away from qualifying for their second Super Bowl appearance in the last three years. It would be the first trip to the big game for Saquon Barkley, who spent the first six years of his NFL career with the lowly Giants, and the running back would earn himself a nice bonus should his team hoist the Lombardi Trophy when all is said and done.

Saquon Barkley Can Earn An Extra $750k With A Super Bowl Win

There was plenty of talk at the end of the regular season about contract incentives. Many players around the NFL had bonus money built into their deals, mostly based on individual performance and meeting certain statistical thresholds. But some have team-based incentives, meaning that some players earn bonuses if they help their squad to playoff and Super Bowl wins.

Saquon Barkley is in that category, and is hoping to cash out over the next few weeks.

During last off-season, the 27-year-old running back signed a 3-year, $37.7 million contract with the Eagles. Barkley earned just under $13.5 million in 2024 in his base salary and signing bonus, which would up being a solid bargain for Philadelphia given his production.

But he also took home an extra $1 million in incentives. Built into Barkley’s deal is a $500k bonus for being named a First Team All-Pro, along with $250k for reaching each of the 1,500 and 2,000 scrimmage yards plateaus. He was able to hit all three of those marks during the best year of his career, but he might not be done pulling in the extra cash quite yet.

Each player on the roster of a conference championship winning team earns $77,000, which Eagles players will take home if they are able to defeat the Commanders this coming Sunday. Then, the bonus for winning the Super Bowl is a cool $171k. But those achievements are highlighted and stressed in the contract of Saquon Barkley, as he is on track to earn $250k on top of those totals.

The clause in his contract specifically states that a quarter of a million dollars is owed to Barkley should he have 1,000 rushing yards (done) and make it to the Super Bowl. There would be another $250k in his pocket if Philly were to win it all. That $500k combined with the $248k that each player on the roster earns would call for a cool $748,000 payday on top of Barkley’s original salary.
