‘Santosh Patil was not a party leader or worker’

Dhananjay Jadhav, BJP rural unit president, has said that Santosh Patil, contractor who was found dead in Udupi on Tuesday, was neither a BJP leader nor worker.

“Santosh Patil was a total fraud. He cheated his friends. He took money from 12 other contractors, promising them that he would get their bills cleared from the Government,’’ Mr. Jadhav told journalists who were waiting near the BJP meeting venue.

Santosh Patil’s claims of being a BJP leader or dedicated worker were false. He was trying for Congress ticket in the last elections. He even forged Rahul Gandhi’s signature on an election B form in the last elections, Mr. Jadhav alleged.

However, Prashant Patil, Santosh Patil’s elder brother, has denied these allegations.
