Eight Bristol restaurants have been named in the running for an exciting UK-wide Uber Eats award.
This year the UK and Ireland will crown a new culinary champion, hailed by a food service many are familiar with. And not only will the champ take away an esteemed title, the first-ever awards from the food delivery app will see the winner of the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ receive £100,000 to build and expand their business.
Alongside the public vote, the winning restaurants will be chosen by a panel of judges including Prue Leith, celebrity restaurateur and TV presenter, and Rachel Ama, vegan chef. Matthew Price, Uber Eats general manager, Mark Lewis, chief executive at Hospitality Action, Lorraine Copes, founder at Be Inclusive Hospitality and Joseph Denison Carey, TV chef, will also contribute their wide-ranging expertise to the judging panel.

For the next stage in the voting process, customers can view the shortlist and vote for their favourite restaurants from across the UK and Ireland from today until June 16 at ubereatsawards.com. Bristolians will be glad to know they can nominate eateries from their local area. An impressive ten restaurants from the South West and Wales with eight being Bristol based.
The Bristol nominees include brilliant burger spot ASADO, much-loved Chilli daddy and vegan gem Koocha. Also nominated are the delicious Low and Slow Barbeque, iconic Sandwich Sandwich, tasty Taka Taka and Indian cuisine experts Urban Tandoor.
Beyond the grand prize category, the awards will also highlight the trailblazers in the industry who are leading the way after a turbulent few years for restaurants and the hospitality industry. These Pioneer Awards include:
- Female Chef of the Year
- Black-owned Restaurant
- Sustainable Restaurant
- Health-focused Restaurant
- Community/Social Impact Restaurant
