Before he was even seen in a black and white shirt for the first time, Newcastle United's newest signing, Sandro Tonali, inspired a local burger business to create a dish in his honour.
After loads of speculation and plenty of finger crossing from NUFC fans that it would go through, Tonali's transfer from AC Milan was made official late on Monday afternoon, with the fee said to be in the region of a cool £55 million. Delighted to have secured the 23-year-old on a five year contact, Magpies boss Eddie Howe, said: "He is an exceptional talent and has the mentality, physicality and technical attributes to be a great fit for us.
"At 23, Sandro already has important experience as a key player in one of Europe's top leagues and in the Champions League, as well as playing for his country. But he also has the opportunity and potential to grow and evolve with us, and I'm excited to add him to our squad as we approach the exciting season ahead."

And Eddie isn't the only boss in the city who's excited about Tonali, set to arrive on Tyneside on Wednesday evening, becoming a United player. Brothers Joey and Ollie Brack, who run Brack Burger, the business that has gone from strength to strength since launching as a takeaway in lockdown, have swiftly created a burger in Tonali's honour.
Revealing all on the Toonali Burger and its ingredients on social media on Wednesday morning, Brack Burger posted: "This is how we welcome the big signings to Newcastle. Double beef smash patty seasoned our way with a pizza sauce, shredded lettuce & sliced tomato base topped with mozzarella cheese & Pesto a'la Genovese in a toasted brioche bun."
Brack Burger dubbed The Toonali ' the creation that completely melts in your mouth and a must try', adding that it will be available at all their sites, including Osbornes in Gosforth, Tynemouth's Surf Café and The Ouseburn Garden, for one week only, from Thursday, June 6.
