Sandra Boyd: Funeral details announced for beloved mam who died in Finglas shooting

The funeral arrangements have been announced for Dublin mum Sandra Boyd, with her grieving family to lay her to rest on Monday.

Mum-of-five Sandra, 36, died in the Mater Hospital after a shooting incident at a house in Collins Place in Finglas on Saturday night.

Her funeral mass will take place at St Canice's Roman Catholic Church in Finglas at 11.30am on Monday before burial at Glasnevin Cemetery.

The notice on RIP.ie reads: "The death has occurred of the late Sandra Boyd suddenly, surrounded by her loving family.

"Sadly missed by her loving mother Teresa, stepfather Alan, father Derek, fiancé Darren, loving children Ben, Jordan, Luke, Carter and loving daughter Darcy, sisters Tanya, Mandy, Nicola, Danielle, Melissa and Megan, brothers Derek and Gerard, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and a very wide circle of friends.

"May She Rest in Peace."

Her brother wept and told his family "I'm sorry" after he was charged in connection to her fatal shooting yesterday.

Derek Boyd was before Dublin District Court which heard that he faces two charges which relate to a "terrible accident" and "heartbreaking tragedy."

Mr Boyd was charged with unlawful possession or control of a Kahr CW9 semi automatic pistol.

The 27-year-old, also of Collins Place in Finglas, was also further charged with possession or control of five live rounds of 9mm luger ammunition.
