Three people have been stabbed at an airport in California.
The knifeman allegedly launched the stabbing frenzy in San Francisco International Airport at about 6pm (local time) on Friday.
The suspect pulled out an "edged weapon" and slashed three men, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at the scene before being released, police said.
Airport duty manager Russell Mackey said: “They were treated for minor scrapes and released."
The passengers continued on their travels after the incident.
Airport spokesperson Doug Yakel told the Chronicle that the attacker had “attempted to cause injury to several passing travellers".
A local TV reporter who happened to be at the airport during the time of the incident said a large knife was recovered from the scene.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
It is unclear what his motive was, or whether he was a traveller himself.
Police have yet to disclose any information about prospective charges against the suspect and said the investigation is ongoing.
Officers removed a large knife from the scene.
The attack reportedly took place in the pre-security area of the airport's international terminal.
It comes after a doctor and two nurses were stabbed at a Los Angeles hospital earlier this month.
The Los Angeles Police Department tweeted: "Reports of multiple people stabbed at Encino Hospital. The suspect is believed to be contained in a room within the hospital. There is a large police presence."

In later tweets, the LAPD said: "UPDATE: Two nurses and a doctor were injured during the incident and are receiving medical treatment at this time.
"The suspect has been taken into custody. Detectives will remain on scene conducting a thorough investigation.
"35 year old Ashkan Amirsoleymani has been identified as the suspect involved in (the) stabbing incident at Encino Hospital.
"He was booked for 3 counts of attempted murder, and his bail has been set at 3 million dollars."
Amirsoleymani was in an hours-long standoff with police before he was arrested.
He had sought treatment at the hospital before launching his knife attack.
The scene of the stabbing frenzy was described as "a bloodbath" by witnesses.
