Jesse Matthews caught a touchdown pass from Mayden that extended the lead to 18 points, 28-10, for San Diego State in the third quarter. Fresno State’s special teams unit blocked a punt, which gave the Bulldogs great field position. San Diego State safety Patrick McMorris came up with a crucial interception in the end zone with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Just when it seemed like San Diego State was in the driver’s seat, Fresno State stormed back for a 32-28 win.
