The Boston Celtics have been looking more like the juggernaut they started the 2022-23 season as in recent games but had the ironic test of needing to show they are able to rise to the occasion sub-.500 teams like the San Antonio Spurs. And rise they did and then some despite Jayson Tatum taking the night off to rest a sore hip and Marcus Smart (13 points) getting ejected early on a pair of questionable techs.
Jaylen Brown (41 points, 13 rebounds) carried the load for Boston while helping solidify his case to be an All-NBA forward this season, while Malcolm Brogdon (20 points, 5 boards, 9 assists), and Derrick White (19 points, 8 rebounds) helped carry the contest in favor of the Celtics. Robert Williams III (11 points, 8 boards) continues to look solid in a reserve role.
