Samuel L. Jackson's reaction to losing Best Actor at Tony Awards is absolutely priceless

Samuel L. Jackson was far from impressed after missing out on a prestigious award at the 76th annual Tony Awards.

The 74-year-old had been nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play following his performance in The Piano Lesson, which was his wife LaTanya Richardson's Broadway directorial debut.

However, the Pulp Fiction actor missed out on the award to Brandon Uranowitz, who starred in Leopoldstadt.

Samuel couldn't hide his disappointment after losing the Tony as he seemed to roll his eyes before clapping slowly, all of which was caught on camera.

Fans have been left in hysterics by his reaction and quickly took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person joked: "His eye roll will be a meme!"

Another fan agreed: "Samuel L. Jackson does not have a good non-winner face. I'm sure his eye roll will be a meme."

"Samuel L Jackson didn’t look happy," a third person tweeted with a crying laughing emoji.

Someone else insisted: "Samuel L. Jackson does not have good non-winner face. I’m sure his eye roll will be a meme."

However, other fans were sympathetic towards Samuel and said they would also be disappointed to have missed out on the award.

One furious fan tweeted: "Samuel L. Jackson didn't win. I'm done watching the Tony's. I rarely watch awards shows, but I watched this one for that reason."

"I thought Samuel L. Jackson was gone win that..." someone else said.

A third disappointed fan commented: "Samuel L. Jackson lost I hate it here actually."

Brandon made an emotional speech as he collected his award and opened up about suffering from "imposter syndrome".

He also spoke about anti-Semitism and the "false promise of assimilation," which are explored in his winning play Leopoldstadt.

Paying tribute to his parents, Brandon said: "The only thing I've wanted in this life is to be able to repay you for the sacrifices you've made for me."
