Samuel L Jackson parties at Bongo's Bingo at SWG3 leaving revellers gobsmacked

Partygoers at a 'rave bingo' night in Glasgow were staggered to see Hollywood royalty Samuel L Jackson join in the fun and games.

The 74-year-old Pulp Fiction legend stopped by SWG3 to check out Bongo's Bingo on Saturday – an event that describes itself as "a crazy mix of traditional bingo, dance-offs, rave intervals, audience participation and countless magical moments." Video posted on social media shows the acclaimed actor laughing as he films a drag queen's strip tease.

He later posed for photos with Bongo's performers and staff after being invited backstage. Bongo's founder Jonny Lacey captioned the video: "Good to have @samuelljackson fly over for the @bongosbingo Glasgow show."

Fans took to social media to share their disbelief at the megastar's attendance. One wrote: "If it wasn’t filmed you wouldn’t believe it."

Another said: "Samuel l Jackson at Bongo's Bingo in Scotland. What even?"

A third Bongo's-goer added: "Seen the glasses and hat and was like is that who I think it is? Madness."

While another attendee joked on Twitter: "Yo @SamuelLJackson saw you in Bongo’s Bingo mate. Come down tae the drum in Shettleston. It’s karaoke night and it’s £3 a pint. First round on me."

Marvel star Jackson is in Scotland filming a new drama, Damaged, about a detective who travels to the country from Chicago after a series of murders similar to others he has investigated happens overseas. The film also stars Westworld actor Vincent Cassel and Scots actor Gianni Capaldi, among others.

Speculation had mounted that he was filming new scenes for Marvel films, where he plays superhero agency boss Nick Fury. The existence of the new film was revealed earlier this week.

Jackson has enjoyed oodles of Scottish hospitality, posing with and signing a Rangers top that will be auctioned for charity. His presence in West Lothian, where he has shot scenes at Almond Valley Heritage Centre and the Tony Macaroni arena, also wowed locals.

In a tongue-in-cheek post on Facebook earlier this month, Almond Valley Heritage Centre noted: “It was (and is) all very top-secret and even if we knew more, we wouldn’t clype. Suffice to say, we’re preparing a commemorative plaque, proudly stating ‘somewhere near this bush, make-up was applied to Samuel L Jackson’.”
