It is one of the North East's most famous and fastest-growing restaurant chains and it has been confirmed that Sambuca will open a new branch in Gateshead.
The company has restaurants all over the North East, with many in the Newcastle area including on the Quayside, in Eldon Garden and in the likes of Forest Hall, Heaton Park, North Shields and Blyth.
Sambuca - famous for budget-friendly hearty Italian food - also has restaurants in Sunderland, Chester-le-Street, South Shields and Peterlee.
And there will soon be another one on the list at Trinity Square in Gateshead, with the new restaurant going into the premises formerly occupied by Frankie and Benny's, right next to Nando's and the Vue cinema.
Revealing the news on Facebook, Trinity Square posted: "We're delighted to announce that restaurant chain Sambuca is coming to Trinity Square, opening up in the former Frankie and Benny's premises.
"An opening date will be announced early in the New Year and we're looking forward to welcoming Sambuca to the Trinity Square family!"
The announcement was met by a huge reaction by followers of the page, with the post gathering hundreds of comments in less than an hour.
One person reacted "Absolutely brilliant news!," while another commented: "Fabulous news! The more great business open the more vibrant our town centre will become."
