The morning Nottingham Forest headlines from NottinghamshireLive following Saturday's 2-2 draw with Stoke City.
Yates rescues Forest after Samba dismissal
Ryan Yates netted a stoppage time equaliser as 10-man Nottingham Forest salvaged a 2-2 draw with Stoke on Saturday.
The hosts had Brice Samba sent off late on for throwing an arm at Phil Jagielka, meaning Joe Worrall had to take the gloves for the final 13 minutes with all three subs used.
Lewis Baker fired home the resulting spot kick before Yates’ dramatic last-gasp leveller.
Brennan Johnson had struck first blood for Forest before Josh Maya equalised for Stoke not long after.
Cooper on red card
Forest boss Steve Cooper said he had “no complaints” about Samba’s red card albeit indicated his disgruntlement with referee Leigh Doughty’s overall performance.
He said: “He knows he’s made a huge error. For all of the mistakes the referee made today, I have no complaints with the red card.
“He’s made a mistake, and it’s nearly cost us.”
Cooper commented on Worrall’s efforts as makeshift goalkeeper, saying: “He certainly wasn’t going to lack any bravery.”
He added: “The last thing I wanted to see was an outfield player going in goal, but if it was going to be anyone, it was going to be him.”
Fans lambast 'reckless' Samba
The gravity of Samba’s hot-headedness did not escape the wrath of Forest supporters after the final whistle despite the stoppage-time equaliser.
The shot stopper came in for stern criticism from those in the stands on social media.
Some described their number one as “reckless” and “idiotic.”
One fan said: “(I) don't want to see Samba start again 'til he sorts his head out.”
Miltiadis Marinakis sends message
Following the game, Miltiadis Marinakis - son of owner Evangelos Marinakis - sent a message to the club.
Watching from the stands, he was treated to a spectacle with a dramatic finale.
Marinakis has been vocal on social media, not being afraid to share his passion for the club.
He took to Twitter after Saturday’s match to deliver a rousing message of encouragement.
