Samantha Womack has shared her heartache as she revealed her beloved pet dog Lola has died.
The former EastEnders actress, 49, posted a tribute to her pup on her Instagram on Friday September 9.
Former Ronnie Mitchell actress Samantha, who revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, posted a string of images of Lola showing herself and the pup in happier times.
As Samantha shared the images on her Instagram page, she shared her heartache in the caption.
She penned: "My heart is broken.
"My soulmate Lola Cannot cope with losing you, not now ………."
Actress Samantha's emotional post was soon met with messages of support and condolence from her followers.
Natalie Appleton wrote: "I just can’t so heart wrenchingly sad oh Lola oh Sammy".
Denise Van Outen penned: "I’m so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you".
While a fan added: "A heartbreaking loss - so sorry. Sending love", another added: "Oh no, so sorry to hear this. You gave her the best life. It just breaks your heart when they go."
And a third wrote: "So sorry Sam. Sending love and hugs xx".
Actress Samantha revealed her breast cancer diagnosis as she paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John, who had a 30 year battle with breast cancer, following the news of her death at age 73.
Uploading a throwback photo with daughter Lily Rose, now 17, from her time on the West End stage in the Grease production on Instagram, Samantha recalled how Olivia came to see her on stage in the tribute.
Samantha wrote: "This was the most magical of evenings. Olivia and Chloe had come to see Grease in London and we had dinner together afterwards.
"I was so excited and in awe, she was my childhood. I now start my own battle with this disease and am left feeling deeply moved."
Samantha played Sandy in Grease in the West End from 1994 to 1995. She is best known for her role as Ronnie Mitchell on EastEnders.
The actress then revealed she had undergone surgery in a later Instagram post as shared a photo of a bowl of soup with her dog in the background as she recovered from the surgery.
The actress didn't give too much detail about how she was doing apart from saying she was feeling 'loved and grateful'.
Alongside the snap Samantha wrote: "Recuperating after breast cancer op. My love makes me turmeric and ginger in the morning and homemade butternut squash soup in the evening……. #feeling loved and grateful."
Celebrity friends of the star took to the comments to give their support.
Sam's former EastEnders colleague Emma Barton simply said 'love you' along with two red love heart emojis.
While Denise Van Outen wrote: " Sending you massive love."
As Jo Joyner commented: " Sending healing thoughts and love xx".
