Samagra Shiksha staff yet to receive salaries; MLCs demand immediate action

MLCs from the Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) K.S. Lakshmana Rao, I. Venkateswara Rao and Shaik Sabjee have slammed the government for “failure to pay salaries” to the staff working in the Samagra Shiksha wing of the School Education Department for last three months.

In a statement on Wednesday (October 25), the MLCs said the families of nearly 20,000 staff of Samagra Shiksha wing faced serious financial problems on account of the delay in payment of salaries. They accused the State Government of not releasing 40% of the funds towards the payment of salaries.

The MLCs said while huge amount of money was being spent on roping in consultancies by the department, the staff working for low salaries were denied payment. They said the government had also not yet implemented its announcement on 23% wage hike for the staff working in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV).

Demanding a hike in salaries for the Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) working in KGBVs for last five years, they urged the government to act immediately.
