Sam Thompson is reportedly chanelling out the noise surrounding his ex’s new relationship by focusing on his own love life.
The Made in Chelsea star, 32, was left devastated after splitting from former Love Island star Zara McDermott, 28, after five years of dating in January.
She has since hit headlines by moving on with ex-One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, 33, and while Thompson previously said he wasn’t interested in dating, he appears to have had a change of heart.
While it’s still said to be “early days,” the Staying Relevant podcast star has reportedly been swapping flirty messages with another former islander, Samie Elishi, 25.
Elishi came third on the ITV2 dating show in 2023 - five years after McDermott appeared on the series - and briefly returned for this year's All Stars season.
A source told The Sun: “Sam found the split and its public fall-out very hard but Samie has put a smile back on his face. She is a stunning girl and he’s told a few pals about her.
“He seems excited. Obviously it’s early days, but clearly he has a thing for Love Islanders!”
The Standard has contacted a representative for both Sam Thompson and Samie Elishi for comment.
This latest development comes after Thompson signed up to celebrity dating app Raya.
He then further set tongues wagging last month when he was spotted with Too Hot To Handle star Lucy Syed, 28, at new Chelsea nightclub The Rex Rooms.
While they are believed to have spent time together on more than one occasion, insiders close to the former I’m A Celebrity winner insisted they aren’t dating and just enjoy each other’s company.
A source told the MailOnline: “Sam and Lucy were sharing direct messages over Instagram before they decided to meet up at a pub and then continue their night at The Rex Rooms.
“They looked really close in the club, chatting and cuddling up together, but their closeness continued after they spent the night partying together and the pair's connection has certainly put a smile back on Sam's face.
“Sam is enjoying being single again and dipping his toe back into the dating pool,” they added to the publication.
