Former US Open champion Sam Stosur will end her singles career at the Australian Open.
The 37-year-old has been granted a wildcard entry to play her 20th home grand slam event.
She announced on social media that she would still play doubles for the rest of the year.
"A huge thank you to [Tennis Australia] for giving me this opportunity to finish my singles career at my home Grand Slam," Stosur wrote.
"It really means a lot to me to be able to finish in front of my family, friends and Aussie fans who have stuck by me through thick and thin."
Stosur won the US Open in 2011, defeating Serena Williams in the final.
She also made the final and three semi-finals of the French Open.
The Australian has never made it past the fourth round in Melbourne and has been bundled out in the opening round in five of the last six years.
She has seven grand slam double titles — four in the women's and three mixed.
Her most recent triumph was with Chinese player Zhang Shuai, winning the women's doubles at the 2021 US Open.
The pair claimed the women's crown at the Australian Open in 2019.
"I'm sure it's going to be a mix of emotions but I wouldn't want it any other way as I always thought I'd finish playing in Australia," she wrote.
Her 20th appearance in the main draw at Melbourne ties the record with Lleyton Hewitt for most appearances by an Australian.
