Sam Smith has apologised to fans after suddenly cancelling their concert part-way through. The popstar, 31, brought their "Gloria the Tour" to Manchester's AO Arena last night (May 24), with thousands of fans descending upon the venue to belt out the singer's hits.
But the show came to a sudden end when Sam disappeared from the stage after performing just four songs. Fans were left wondering if there had been a "powercut" after the lights temporarily dimmed before the audience was informed that the concert had been cut short due to "vocal issues" and asked to leave.
Following the incident, Sam released a statement to "devastated" fans, apologising to those at the show and explaining why it was cancelled. On their Instagram story, the Unholy singer wrote: "Dearest sailors, I don't know what to say honestly."

Sam continued: "I fought off a virus a few weeks ago and since then we have sailed across Europe and had such incredible shows. Today in soundcheck I felt fine and was so excited to give Manchester an amazing show tonight, with a special surprise at the end.
"During my third song, I noticed something wrong with my voice. I prayed it was just my voice waking up for the show but into the fourth song I could feel something was really wrong. I came off stage and have tried everything to get my voice back in gear but it won't.
"I am honestly heartbroken I couldn't finish the show tonight for you all. I love you all.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry x."
