Sam Neill recently congratulated Cillian Murphy on his significant career achievement. The 76-year-old Jurassic Park actor spent time with his Peaky Blinders co-star, Murphy, 47, following Murphy's first-ever Academy Award win for Best Actor at the Oscars 2024.

After the win, Neill shared a photo on Instagram of the two actors at a restaurant, with Murphy's Oscar statuette prominently displayed on the table. Neill expressed his excitement for Murphy's win, calling it well-deserved.

The actors previously worked together on Peaky Blinders, where Neill portrayed Chief Inspector/Major Chester Campbell opposite Murphy's character Tommy Shelby in the first two seasons of the series.

Murphy's award-winning performance was for his role as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's 2023 film, Oppenheimer. The actor admitted to feeling overwhelmed and humbled by the win, expressing gratitude and pride in representing his Irish heritage.

Murphy also highlighted his longstanding collaboration with Nolan, emphasizing the significance of Oppenheimer in their professional relationship. He described the film as provocative and challenging, yet appealing to a wide audience, expressing pride in their work together.

Reflecting on the win, Murphy acknowledged the impact of the moment and expressed contentment if he were remembered primarily for his role in Oppenheimer. He emphasized the importance of moving forward while cherishing the experience of working on such a special project.
