Sam LaPorta, Penei Sewell will be back and active in Lions practice

Lions head coach Dan Campbell delivered some positive news on the team’s injury front ahead of Wednesday’s practice session. Two offensive starters will be back on the field after missing a little time with injuries.

Starting right tackle Penei Sewell has cleared the NFL concussion protocols and will be fully active in the Wednesday camp session. Sewell entered the protocol after Friday’s practice with a potential brain injury.

Rookie tight end Sam LaPorta will also be active in practice. He left Monday’s practice with a minor ankle injury. Per Campbell, LaPorta will “test out” the ankle in Wednesday’s session after an off day on Tuesday.
