Rangers are reportedly ramping up their bid to land Sam Lammers this summer as Michael Beale targets a trio of signings.
Striker Lammers spent the second part of the season on loan at Sampdoria from Atalanta, but couldn’t fire Il Blucerchiati to Serie A safety and has now returned to his parent club after netting just twice this term. The 26-year-old has two years left to run on his contract after joining from PSV in 2020 – with most of his time at the club spent away from Atalanta on loan having enjoyed spells with Eintracht Frankfurt and Empoli.
Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers is also nearing a deal with Record Sport revealing the Italian side were being talked down from their bumper £6.5million price tag to bring the attacker to the Scottish Premiership. Jose Cifuentes is also likely to be arriving at Ibrox in the coming weeks as the Ecuador international approaches the end of his Los Angeles FC deal.
But The Herald report an agreement for Lammers could be first over the line after "positive talks" with Atalanta over a potential £3million switch. The deal could be sealed while Rangers "continue to work" on a move to bring Dessers to the club. It has been a busy summer so far for Beale as he attempts to rebuild the squad in Govan. Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland have already completed moves to the Light Blues this summer.
