A Rangers transfer exit for Sam Lammers to return to Utrecht has been ruled out as 'financially unfeasible'.
Reports in the Netherlands claim the Eredivisie side would have liked to have signed Lammers on permanent terms this summer after a successful loan spell last term.
However, the Dutch club have instead signed a new striker - Noah Ohio - after it was discovered a deal to bring Lammers back would be unrealistic on financial grounds.
Voetbalzone report boss Ron Jans would have preferred to have kept Lammers beyond the summer but no deal was possible.
It's expected Lammers will leave Rangers this summer after being shipped out on loan last term. Despite his scoring spree in the Netherlands, it's thought Lammers is not in Philippe Clement's plans for the 2024/25 Scottish Premiership season.

While Utrecht have been ruled out of the race to sign Lammers this summer, it's claimed AZ Alkmaar may mount a bid to land the striker.
Reports in the Netherlands have suggested AZ Alkmaar will match Rangers' asking price of around £2.5 million for the 27-year-old unwanted striker.
And they are hopeful they can persuade Lammers to join them.
AZ finished in fourth place in the Eredivisie last term and have money to spend after the league's top scorer Vangelis Pavlidis signed for Benfica this week in a £17 million deal.
