Sam Kerr says the Champions League is Chelsea's next target after the Blues won a fourth straight WSL crown.
Kerr, 29, scored twice as Chelsea eased past Reading 3-0 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium to relegate the Royals and ensure the title was staying in West London. Guro Reiten also struck as Emma Hayes' team rounded off the season with yet another double.
The champions finished two points clear of Man Utd, who won 1-0 at Liverpool, a result that meant the holders had to win to hold onto top spot. But Chelsea never looked like slipping-up once Kerr headed home after fine work down the left wing from Reiten, the Aussie forward having just missed a sitter only minutes earlier.
The in-form forward, who also scored the winner in the FA Women's Cup final a fortnight ago, added another late on to kickstart the league champions latest celebration. And Kerr said that although Chelsea would be celebrating their latest achievement, she felt they still had new heights to reach next season, particularly on the continent.
"I think at the end of the day it was always in our hands," Kerr told Sky Sports. "Of course there is abit of pressure but it was the same last year. We knew that if we won every game and took care of ourselves then [we would win].
"I think we like it that way. We play better like that, under pressure. The next step for us is to play like that in the Champions League. To win two trophies is amazing but it would have been great to have brought two more back to Chelsea. I think they (title wins) get better each year.
"They definitely get harder. It makes it so much more sweeter when it is so tight at the top. It's my fourth but it is some people's first, so we'll all celebrate it like it's the first."
This season Chelsea only dropped points twice since the opening day loss to Liverpool. The Blues drew 1-1 at Arsenal and were beaten at Man City in March, but a late surge by Hayes' team saw them successfully chase down long-time leaders United.
They also went close to making the Champions League final, but were narrowly edged out by Barcelona, 2-1 on aggregate, in the last four. And Kerr believes they were close to completing a treble this season.
"I think we weren't far off (winning the Champions League) we went toe to toe with Barcelona for parts of each leg," added Kerr. "And we have had some big players missing, Millie Bright, and Pernille (Harder) wasn't fully fit. So it's tough and the league is getting tougher, but we aren't far off, we really aren't.
"People are never happy, right? If I'm scoring they say 'it's not about the stats', but when I'm not scoring they then say 'well it's about the stats', so I keep doing whatever wins trophies.
"I don't really care about what people say about me honestly, I'm with the greatest team in England. I'm happy, the team is happy, so it's not about me, it's about the team."
