Sam Heughan unrecognisable in throwback to 'first on-screen acting role' as teen

Sam Heughan is unrecognisable in what's believed to be his first stint on-screen.

The Outlander star- known to many as heart-throb Jamie Fraser- first appeared in a short film in 2001, where he played a hormone-fuelled teen.

The old clip, which can be viewed on Youtube, displays a much-younger Sam appearing in a racy scene where he is seen sharing a chair with a girl whilst the pair exchange a steamy kiss.

And although the youngster at the time didn't appear often in the film, which appeared to be filmed in Glasgow, it gives fans a rare insight into his old acting days.

The pair shared a kiss in the video after the teenage girl took a large scoop of mint chocolate ice cream and teased him with the teaspoon between her lips as they locked eyes.

In a later scene, things heat up as the pair can't keep their hands off each other and are filmed in the same spot irresistibly kissing each other in a teenage hormone frenzy reports Scottish Daily Express.

The scene didn't leave the actor much room for conversation, the now 42-year-old did have one line as he rushed across the pub and expressed his concerns about a mystery briefcase "Someone left this," he said chucking it over to a staff member before an explosion was heard at the end of the short film.

Elsewhere, we also took a look into Caitriona Balfe's audition tape for the time-travelling drama.

Last year, Starz, which follows the steamy love life of Jamie and Claire Fraser, network and Sony Pictures Television shared a video of Catriona Balfe's audition tape for the role of Claire Randall Fraser.

The clip showcases Balfe reading a scene from early in season 1, where Claire tends to Jamie Fraser's bullet wound after he helps rescue her from Captain Black Jack Randall and his English Dragoons.

Even in the brief scene fans can see Balfe's intelligence, commanding presence, and caring, flirtatious energy that helps forge a connection between lovers Claire and Jamie.
