Sam Heughan reunites with Outlander co-stars Graham McTavish and Duncan Lacroix

Sam Heughan has reunited with his Outlander co-stars Graham McTavish and Duncan Lacroix.

The Dumfries born actor, who is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in the historical fantasy series, posed alongside Graham, who is reprising his role as Dougal MacKenzie for the seventh season. Duncan, who was beaming in between the devilish Scots duo portrays Murtagh Fraser in the hit series.

Sharing the snap of the trio on Instagram, Graham joked: "So much to unpack from this picture. Duncan appears to have escaped from some kind of asylum while Sam appears to be wearing a straitjacket while I have chosen a matching colour. Fun times!

"A great night with @duncan.lacroix and @samheughan and a fitting celebration of the paperback publication of The Clanlands Almanac @hodderbooks @mobius_books #clanlandsalmanac #atastingmenutoofar #dial911 "

Another returning Outlander star Steven Cree commented a red heart emoji on the snap. Fans flocked to the comments to share their delight at their favourites actors being reunited off-screen.

One wrote: "This makes me happy. The fact that you all like each other off screen makes me love you all even more. Thank you for sharing," while another quipped: "Three amigos! Sam looks cold, Duncan looks like some mad man and Graham, you look perfectly normal!"

A third penned: "Love this! Just amazing how much you are all supportive of each other. It's so fun to see....." A fourth agreed: "Is this you announcing you’re all in a remake of The Shining?? You and Sam are playing the twins and Duncan….well that one’s obvious"

Last month, it was announced that a number of familiar faces would be returning to the highly anticipated seventh season of Outlander. During a Q&A panel with Sam, Duncan, Outlander author Diana Gabaldon and David Berry at New York City Comic Con, the group revealed some inside secrets ahead of the new season.

Despite being unsure if he would be returning to the show, Diana teased that they could work something out with Murtagh's ghost. “If we get Season 8, I’ll see what we can do about Murtagh’s ghost,” Gabaldon told him onstage.

The cast were keen to avoid speculation about the show's future, as it currently hasn't been renewed past the seventh season. After being asked by a fan about season eight and beyond, Gabaldon stated: “Absolutely nothing has been officially released.”

Outlander seasons 1-6 are available on Starz in the USA and Lionsgate+ via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
