Potential NFL prospects skipping their final college bowl game is nothing new. The latest to join the surging trend is Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman.
The six-year collegian has opted to eschew playing for the Fighting Irish in the Sun Bowl to focus on getting ready for the NFL draft. Hartman, who transferred to Notre Dame after a record-setting five years at Wake Forest, will look to regain some of the momentum he had early in the 2023 college season. A rough midseason stretch soured his rising draft perception.
Hartman is generally projected as a late-round pick or priority free agent as the college season ends. He finishes fifth all-time in NCAA passing yards with over 15,000 in his career.
