Sam Fender vows to give Brit Award to Low Lights Tavern pub in North Shields if he wins

Sam Fender has vowed to give a Brit Award to North Shields pub Low Lights Tavern to turn into a beer pump as he canvassed for votes in the Best Rock/Alternative category.

Seventeen Going Under star Sam already has one Brit to his name, having been chosen as the recipient of the Critics Choice accolade back in 2019.

He has since been nominated in the Best New Artist category, losing out to Lewis Capaldi in 2020 and is now up for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Rock/Alternative this year.

The winner of latter is chosen by the public and, just as the vote opened on TiTok, Sam took to Instagram to urge fans to get behind him.

It was in the same video that he promised to put the Brit on display at his beloved Low Lights Tavern should he win.

The pub, where Sam recorded a special performance for America's The Tonight Show last year, is already home to Sam's Critics Choice trophy.

And Sam told fans that, if he should win the Best Rock/Alternative gong he wanted it to be a beer pump at Low Lights.

Explaining how the Brits public vote works this year, he said: "I've been nominated for a Brit Award, well for three; but there's one that's fan voted and it's voted for on TikTok.

"So, if you can, you can vote for us 10 times a day if you're that much of a legend.

"So I can have another Brit Award and put it on the pub and turn it into a bar bump again."

He ended the Insta video by saying: "If you want to see all of the band go wild on stage then vote for us."

As well as Sam's category, TikTok users will also crown the winners of Best Dance Act, Hip Hop/Grime Act and Pop/RnB Act.
