Sam Fender to perform with Ant and Dec on ITV's Saturday Night Takeaway

Sam Fender will join Ant and Dec on ITV's Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend to give a performance packed with Geordie talent.

The signer-songwriter, from North Shields, will perform in the programme's 'End Of The Show Show' segment, which sees presenters Ant and Dec perform alongside each week's guests.

The popular entertainment show returned for a 18th series on February 19 and has already delivered some grand 'End Of The Show Show' performances.

Episode one of the current series ended with Ant and Dec dressed in drag as they joined Drag Race UK champions The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney and Krystal Versace for a special performance.

While more recent 'End Of The Show Show' performances this series have included the Geordie duo dancing alongside the Argentinian dance troupe, Malevo.

And the presenters also got involved in a performance of 'Step In Time' from the West End cast of 'Mary Poppins'.

Saturday Night Takeaway announced that Ant and Dec would be joined by Sam Fender in this week's show in a Twitter post on Tuesday, which was later shared by Sam.

The Tweet read: "One more Geordie lad to add to this week's End Of The Show Show! Catch @samfendermusic performing live with @antanddec this Saturday."

And it didn't take long for fans of the show and Sam Fender to express their excitement.

One person said: "Yes!! I have been sooo waiting for you to have Sam on!! Love him" while someone added: "Brilliant. A great end to a great show. Love these guys".

"Howay the Geordies" someone commented, while another added: "Yay, going to see him live in a couple of weeks, thought he'd be great for the End of the Show Show being a Geordie and all."

Another suggested the boys should play 'Blaydon Races' or the Newcastle anthem 'Local Hero', an iconic tune which Sam walked onstage to at his Newcastle Utilita Arena gig in November.

The 27-year-old's friend and saxophone player Johnny Davis also delighted thousands of Newcastle United fans with a rendition of the tune outside St James' Park in October to celebrate the end of Mike Ashley's 14-year reign over the club.

It's not yet known what the Geordie lads have in store for viewers in Saturday's End Of The Show Show.

But whatever they have planned has already got fans very excited.
