Sam Fender St James' standing ticket holders given 'warning' ahead of Newcastle gigs

Sam Fender fans are now counting the hours to the much loved local icon's massive shows in Newcastle this weekend and St James' Park have given a specific warning for those with standing tickets to get to the ground in good time, as increased security measures will be in place.

No sooner had tickets for Sam's first St James' gig gone on sale, a second was added after huge demand for tickets. And now the 100,000 plus people lucky enough to bag themselves the hottest ticket of the year on Tyneside are chomping at the bit to get inside the stadium to see Sam and his band make, what is sure to be, a triumphant return to home turf.

Sam will perform at St James' Park on both Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10, with his first night coinciding with this year's Blaydon Race and the second on the same day that Pink plays the first of two concerts in Sunderland.

The whole of Newcastle city centre is expected to be very busy for both of Sam's gigs and, with gates opening at the stadium at 4pm and Sam's support acts keeping everyone entertained hours before the man himself is due on stage, fans are being urged to get in early to avoid missing out.

And the latest advice from the club is for those with standing tickets to be particularly prompt on arriving for the shows.

Information sent out by NUFC reads: 'Ticket holders with ‘pitch standing’ tickets are advised to arrive early as there will be increased security measures in place.

Attendees are advised that food and drink must not be taken into the stadium from outside. For security and speed of access, ticket holders are asked not bring bags to the concert unless necessary. If necessary, they should be no larger than 30cm x 30cm.'

. Fans heading to St James' Park at the weekend will also need to be aware of Sam Fender entry and security rules and the Metro closures in place for both concerts.
