Sam Fender fans have been left a bit gutted, after it was revealed that the local hero was set to sing a real fan favourite at his St James' Park on Saturday, but it didn't end up making the cut.
This weekend has belonged to the North Shields musician, as he and his band played two huge sell out shows in Newcastle. The stadium and the whole city was a sea of black and white, on both Friday and Saturday as Sam delighted his captive audience with two blistering sows.
Things got going on Friday night when, after Ernie, Holly Humberstone and Inhaler warmed everyone up, Sam took to the stage, introduced by Local Hero of course, to give Newcastle a night that will live long memory. There was more of the same on Saturday night, only this time, it wasn't just Sam's brother Liam who was a special guest, as he was also joined by AC/DC legend Brian Johnson, to perform the bands classics Back to Black and You Shook Me All Night Long.
Sam's St James' Park setlist included all the songs the crowd expected to hear like Will We Talk, Get You Down, Seventeen Going Under and Hypersonic Missiles, but it's now also been revealed that a performance of The Kitchen was also on the cards. The track, where Sam talks about parties in people' kitchens hasn't appeared on either of his albums, but is a big favourite of his ever growing fanbase.
The secret was made public by a fan who walked away with a setlist from SJP on Saturday, complete with technical instructions. A picture of the setlist was posted in popular Facebook group Sam Fender Appreciation Society and quickly gathered plenty of commengts.
One fan responded: "Omg! As if last night wasn't special enough, this would have been the icing on the best cake ever," with another reacting: "I AM FUMING"
