Sam Fender leads crowd in singing 'f*** the Tories' as he plays Glasgow's TRNSMT

Sam Fender was performing on the main stage at TRNSMT in Glasgow Green

GEORDIE singer/songwriter Sam Fender led the TRNSMT crowd in singing “f*** the Tories” on Friday night as the Glasgow festival kicked off.

The Seventeen Going Under performer had his band play the instrumental of the well-known chant, as he prompted the audience to fill in the blanks.

A National reader sent in footage of Fender smiling at the crowd while they sing back at him.

Fender turned up to his set waving a Saltire flag before kicking things off with Will We Talk.

He encouraged the crowd to participate in a responsible mosh pit and even stopped performing at one point to help fans who needed medical assistance.

The 28-year-old has previously declared Scotland his "second home" during a 2021 appearance at the Glasgow festival.

The award-winning musician also has a passion for a particular Glasgow comic; Limmy.

At a rowdy NME Awards his friends told of how the Twitch streamer is "the best comedian to ever live", while quoting Limmy's Show back and forth with Fender.
