Sam Fender has announced Dublin and Belfast summer shows

Sam Fender has announced Dublin and Belfast shows for next summer.

Following the news of two sold-out stadium shows at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park, Fender has announced outdoor dates for next summer at Ormeau Park, Belfast on Friday, June 23 and Malahide Castle, Dublin on Sunday, June 25.

Over the past few months, the singer has solidified himself as one of the most celebrated and successful British artists of his generation, pulling a huge crowd on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury ahead of his own 45,000 sell-out show at London’s Finsbury Park.

It’s been a huge 2022 so far for the North Shields hero, picking up a slew of BRIT, NME and Ivor Novello Awards.

And the latest announcement suggests 2023 will be Sam’s biggest year yet.

Tickets for Dublin are priced €50.35 inclusive and go on sale from 10am on Friday, October 21.

It comes after the singer previously cancelled a series of concerts to look after his mental health.

Sam confirmed he was taking some time off the road, cancelling three remaining headline shows in the US as well as performances with Florence and the Machine, and the Life is Beautiful Festival.

The English singer posted a heartfelt message on Twitter announcing the news, saying that he had "neglected myself for over a year now and haven't dealt with things that have deeply affected me".

Fender, 28, who has produced hits including Seventeen Going Under and Hypersonic Missiles, said: "It seems completely hypocritical of me to advocate discussion on mental health and write songs about it if I don't take the time to look after my own mental health.

"It's impossible to do this work on myself while on the road, and it's exhausting feigning happiness and wellness for the sake of business.

"My friends and colleagues have been worried about me for a while and it's not going to get better unless I take the time to do so."

The star finished his post: "I can't express how grateful we are to have such an awesome fan base.

"I've met a fair few of you over the years and those encounters have genuinely restored my faith in humanity, you're all sound as f**k.

"Me and the boys are burnt out and we need this time. Thanks for always sticking by us."
