Sam Fender brought the celebs out to St James' Park across the weekend, as Ant and Dec led the stars who attended his historic gigs in Newcastle.
After all tickets were snapped up, minutes after going on sale in the autumn, the moment finally arrived for Seventeen Going Under star to have an occasion he'll never, ever forget. A full house was at SJP on both Friday and Saturday to see Sam and his band bathe in the glory of the biggest gigs that Newcastle will see all year, as a sea of black and white welcomed them to the stage on both evenings.
Stars spotted by fans on night one included NUFC legend Alan Shearer, with the striker, heavily rumoured to actually join Sam on stage at one point, also in attendance on Saturday too. Sharing a video from one of the gigs on his Twitter page, Alan wrote: "What a superstar @samfendermusic you were f**king awesome."
Someone else at Friday night's show was former Geordie Shore star and I'm A Celebrity winner Vicky Pattison, as the TV personality made a return to home turf for the occasion, with Movin' All Around DJ Shaq, who played pitch side a few months ago and local dance music icon Patrick Topping also there..
As well as Shearer being back in the stands at St James' on Saturday, Ant and Dec were there as well. The hosts have a real connection to Sam, having surprised him with a number 1 album trophy, when Seventeen Going Under topped the charts in 2021, before he joined them on Saturday Night Takeaway for a special performance last year.
Prior to the gig, the lads shared a photo of themselves inside the ground, captioning it: "Looking forward to seeing our Geordie ‘nephew’ Sam Fender!!! HWTL," before a video appeared on their story of them singing along to Seventeen Going Under.
Ant and Dec weren't the only ITV presenters at Saturday night's second SJP show either, with Good Morning Britain guest host Gordon Smart also there. He awarded the gig five stars, dubbing it as a 'masterclass,' as he took to Instagram to share a few photos and wrote: "Home turf, Champions League qualifying season for the Toon with your family in the Jackie Milburn stand. Life doesn’t get any better"
Of course, the biggest star there on Saturday and a huge surprise for everyone inside St James' was AC/DC icon Brian Johnson, who walked on stage to duet with Sam on rock anthems Back in Black and You Shook Me All Night long.
