Sam Faiers 'so upset' after Christmas is ruined as she explains social media absence

Samantha Faiers has shared how she was left "so upset" after being struck down by a nasty illness over the Christmas period. The former TOWIE star apologised for being quiet on social media during the festive season and revealed she'd been suffering with a bout of flu.

This year was the 31-year-old's first Christmas as a family of five after giving birth to her third child earlier this year. Sam and her partner Paul Knightley, who share son, Paul Jr, seven, and five-year-old daughter Rosie, welcomed their baby son Edward back in May.

The Baby Diaries star, who boasts 2.5 million Instagram followers, regularly keeps fans updated with her life and in her latest post revealed how her Christmas had played out. Sharing a picture of beautiful tablescape adorned with candles, Sam typed a message.

She said: "Hey, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I've been quiet on here as I was struck down with the worst possible flu you can imagine.

"After 8 days today I'm starting to feel a bit better. So upset it happened over my favourite week of the entire year. Anyway I'm just so happy I'm on the mend."

And while Sam has been quieter than usual on the platform, she did share a cute milestone with her millions of followers on Christmas Eve. Sharing a video of Edward crawling for the first time, she wrote: "Christmas Eve Eve Surprise.. The crawling has started, wish me luck. I’m worried for my tree."

Her sister Billie was one of the first to respond, writing: "Yayyyyyyy go Edward !!! Love you darling now your off !!!! Ready to explore the world." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
