Sam Eggington and Ted Cheeseman kick off Matchroom’s Fight Camp series from Eddie Hearn’s back garden in Brentwood next weekend.

Boxing has been taking its first steps back in recent weeks with Matchroom getting a huge August underway in the first of four behind closed doors shows taking place at the promoter’s headquarters.

Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin and Katie Taylor vs Delfine Persoon close out the series of shows on 22 August with a host of domestic talent in action across the coming weeks.

26-year-old Eggington has racked up four straight wins since his fifth round TKO defeat to Liam Smith in March 2019, picking up the IBF international super-welterweight belt against Orlando Fiordigiglio last year.

He is now ranked no5 with the IBF, hopeful victory on Saturday will move him into an eliminator for the belt currently held by Jeison Rosario.

Cheeseman meanwhile comes into the bout with two defeats in his last three, a controversial defeat to Scott Fitzgerald last time out and a more comprehensive loss to Sergio Garcia either side of a draw with Kieron Conway.
