The Boston Celtics have brought back champion Celtics guard Sam Cassell to serve as an assistant coach under head coach Joe Mazzulla for the 2023-24 NBA season, and our friends over at CLNS Media caught up with the former Philadelphia 76ers assistant for his first interview as a Boston assistant.
In it, Cassell talked about joining Mazzulla’s staff, and rejoining the team he won a title with in 2008. Cassell said he will try to relax the team while also having fun with the pressure and challenging each other. He also said he has no plans to try to change Mazzulla and is looking forward to working with a new head coach after spending most of his career with Doc Rivers.
