Sam Burns, Scottie Scheffler went and did regular guy stuff after squaring off in Charles Schwab Challenge playoff

Sam Burns earned his third win of the season after knocking out Scottie Scheffler on the first playoff hole at the 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge on Sunday.

In the immediate aftermath, the two PGA Tour players turned into a couple of regular dudes, with Scheffler racing off to a wedding and Burns swinging by a Buc-ee’s for some food, drink and assorted items.

Scheffler was probably sweating the bonus golf a tad more, as he faced a 90-minute drive to Quinlan, Texas, due east from Ft. Worth to get to his sister-in-law’s wedding. Good news: he made it just in time.

Meanwhile, Burns showed up low-key at a Buc-ee’s, which if you’re not from the South, is a chain of country stores and gas stations.

It appears Burns post-tournament purchases included a sandwich of some kind, a hot drink and what appears to be some phone chargers, perhaps.

No word on whether he drove the fully restored and modernized 1979 Firebird Trans Am that he earned for winning the tournament.
