The infamous Salt Bae is back in the kitchen of his London restaurant Nusr-Et, for the first time since the venue was savaged on TripAdvisor.
The Turkish chef, whose real name is Nusret Gökçe, recently opened the restaurant in Knightsbridge, which has hit the headlines due to its pricing as one group of diners claimed their final bill totalled £37,000.
Nusr-Et landed on London's streets in September and shocked guests with their extravagant prices, including an £850 golden steak and £100 gold burger.
But by November, the celebrity chef revealed he was leaving London after a short stay to set up his 28th restaurant in Saudi Arabia.
Although only in London for a short time he has hit the headlines with many wealthy guests having been keen to attend the restaurant.
Since his London restaurant opened on September 23, people with the money have turned up to have the Salt Bae treatment.
But many of the reviews have been negative, with one guest in a TripAdvisor review describing the food as “absolutely average” and another calling the prices “fraudulent”.
Most recently, Nusret has shared a video to his Instagram account of him lining up a row of four avocados, before he sliced them along their widths with a single cut.
A second clip shows him preparing the Yeni Nesil, or “new generation” burger, which appears to consist solely of bread, meat and cheese.
The cook can be seen pouring molten cheese into the bun before cutting it in half.
Since its opening, Nusr-Et has become known for its eye-watering prices.
Salt Bae’s signature dish, the Golden Giant Striploin, will set you back a mighty £1,350 while a Golden Giant Tomahawk costs £1,450.
Celebrities have flocked to visit the Instagram-worthy chain and Gemma Collins said she was left in "utter shock" after paying £1,450 for a steak - but said she rated the "once in a lifetime" experience "10/10".
Diners have been leaving their own opinionated reviews online, with one saying the £100 gold burger is below the standard of Harvester food, while others lashed out at those criticising the pricing by arguing: "You know exactly what you're putting yourself into. If you cant afford it, don't go."
The controversial figure has documented his return to London, with the location of recent posts tagged to the city’s steakhouse.
Managers at the eatery told The Sun that it wasn’t known how long he would stay in the UK.
But bookings were expected to skyrocket while the celebrity chef was in town.
As well as the criticism around the food served at Nusr-Et and what diners are charged for it, there have also been questions raised over how much employees at the restaurant are paid.
Back in November, Salt Bae was advertising for a chef who would earn just £14 an hour, which wouldn’t even pay for a side of asparagus at the restaurant.
Other critics have condemned the restaurant's "tacky interiors".
