It's nearly that time of year again when the skies will be lit up and the streets filled with loud bangs.
This year, the festive holiday falls on Saturday, November 5, but you can expect to see many people celebrating early throughout the week. While many displays across Greater Manchester are being cancelled, Salford council will be going on ahead with two free shows that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Bonfire Night is celebrated every year in the UK marking the failed gunpowder plot which sought to blow up the House of Lords and King James I in 1605. The plot was famously initiated by Guy Fawkes, which is why some people refer to the holiday as Guy Fawkes Night.
