Sales at the Chelsea Barracks luxury housing scheme in Belgravia have passed the £1.2 billion mark as the Qatari owned developers complete the latest building, 9 Mulberry Square.
It is made up of 46 apartments and 2 penthouses with prices starting at £3.5 million for a one bedroom home. About half have been sold off-plan prior to completion with buyers from Britain, Europe and China set to move in this month.
Residents will have access to facilities including The Garrison Club at Grenadier Gardens which has a multi-use sports hall that can be used as a Championship Tennis Court and other sports such as basketball or football. It also has a 25 metre swimming pool, a gym, club lounge, a business suite including private offices, boardrooms and a children’s playroom.
It is the first in a trilogy of buildings to be released as part of the next phase of Chelsea Barracks. In total there will be 97 new residences across three buildings designed by Eric Parry.
Richard Oakes, chief sales and marketing officer at developers Qatari Diar said: “This is a hugely important chapter for Chelsea Barracks and our ongoing commitment has seen us move from strength to strength in the lead up to its completion through reaching such monumental sales milestones across the site.
“With three new buildings within the phase and a total of 97 apartments once complete, this latest instalment demonstrates Qatari Diar’s ongoing commitment and investment into London real estate.”
Ed Lewis, Savills London Development said:, ‘Buyers in the Belgravia market have historically been drawn to those garden squares with tennis courts. Belgrave Square, Cadogan Square and Eaton Square all offer the use of courts to local residents and Chelsea Barracks has now delivered a cutting edge interpretation of an indoor tennis court.
“This state of the art court is usable, whatever the weather and like the wider development reflects the nature of those historic garden squares.”
Rupert des Forges, head of prime central London Developments at Knight Frank said: “No other London super prime scheme offers the level of amenities that Chelsea Barracks does as the development also boasts 11 state of the art boardrooms, affirming the development as having the largest exec space of any PCL scheme”.
